Personal Injury cases cover a large array of event types, from Workplace Injuries to Product Liability and many areas in between. These animations share the same reliance on measurement and solid engineering foundation as Vehicle animations, and are made to the same exacting specifications. Because the "object" of interest is often a Human form rather than a simple vehicle, the motion analysis can be quite complex as tracking individual limbs is more challenging than tracking a vehicle that moves as a single piece.
Rendering of "Biped Walking":Animations are often used in these cases for Two main purposes:
1 Illustrate the actual events that lead up to and caused the injury. For the Plaintiff, animating the injury event, as opposed to verbally describing it, is a ore effective means of communication, as it allows you to SHOW the jury what happened. In addition, the event can be shown multiple times from different angles and even in slow motion if warranted. This type of graphic display is often the most memorable and emotionally impacting information the jury will see in trial. For the Defense, the ability to SHOW the jury how the Plaintiff's own negligence contributed to the accident can be the difference between winning and losing.
Rendering of Injury Event:2 Illustrate the specific injury mechanism and highlight the injuries themselves and the medical procedures that are necessary to repair the injury. Most often utilized by the Plaintiff, this type of graphic presentation supports complex medical testimony and documents with easy to understand graphics. A jury that SEES the injuries will be more able to appreciate the level of suffering endured by the Plaintiff.
Analysis of injury:
When we decided to get PSI involved in producing an annimation we had no idea they'd have the impact they would. We were amazed.
Larry Spelling, esq. Wietrab & Wietrab
